Why do rates vary with different insurance companies?
Medigap plans and the benefits they cover are standardized and regulated by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Each company though decides what they will charge based upon zip code, age, gender, health and tobacco use. The plans are the same, only the costs to you will vary depending upon the carrier you select. We can help you find the lowest rates available to you.
Factors that can affect your rates:
The older you are, the higher your rates will be. You get the best rate as you turn 65.
You could be declined for internal cancer, oxygen use, insulin-dependent diabetes with heart conditions, or related conditions such as neuropathy.
Rates usually go up for tobacco use and if you also use oxygen then you will be declined.
